Why every department needs the same GO

From the Cue Lab blog · 6 minute read

A show is a promise kept a thousand times a night. When sound, lights and video each keep their own list, the promise turns into three — and a DSM spends act one reconciling them.

“Standby and GO finally mean the same thing to sound, lights and video.”

What changes on the night

  • One cue number, shared by every department: Q12 is Q12 everywhere.
  • Standbys go out together; a missing Space on one desk shows up as a red lamp on yours.
  • Late changes are marked in the book and pushed before the half.
